Your Questions, Answered

Acupuncture is a time-tested form of medicine that uses very thin, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. It works by encouraging the body's natural ability to regulate, repair, and heal itself.
At All is Well Acupuncture, I believe that when the body's systems communicate and function well together, symptoms often improve naturally. Acupuncture helps restore that communication so your body can heal more effectively.

This is the question I hear most often!
Most people are surprised by how comfortable acupuncture is. The needles are incredibly thin—much thinner than those used for injections or blood draws. You may feel a brief sensation as a needle is inserted, followed by feelings of warmth, heaviness, tingling, or relaxation.
Many patients become so relaxed during treatment that they fall asleep.

Your first appointment includes much more than the acupuncture treatment itself.
We'll begin by talking about your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. This conversation helps me understand how your symptoms fit into the bigger picture of your health.
From there, I'll develop an individualized treatment plan, answer any questions you have, and perform your acupuncture treatment in a calm, relaxing environment.
-
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing whenever possible.
Many acupuncture points are located on the arms and legs, so clothing that can easily be rolled up is helpful. If needed, gowns and draping are available to ensure you're comfortable throughout your treatment.

Acupuncture is commonly used to support a wide variety of health concerns, including, but not limited to:
Overall wellness and stress management
Neck, back, shoulder, and joint pain
Headaches and migraines
Stress and anxiety
Sleep concerns and insomnia
Digestive disorders
Women's health and hormonal balance
Fertility support
Allergies and sinus issues
Fatigue
Neuropathy
Chronic pain
If you're unsure whether acupuncture may be appropriate for your specific concern, I'd be happy to discuss it with you.

Many symptoms that seem unrelated—such as headaches, digestive concerns, fatigue, poor sleep, chronic pain, and hormonal imbalances—can all be influenced by how well the body's systems are communicating and functioning together.
Rather than focusing on one symptom in isolation, acupuncture takes a whole-body approach. By supporting communication between the nervous, immune, endocrine, and circulatory systems, acupuncture helps create an environment where the body can heal and regulate more effectively.
That's why two people with the same diagnosis may receive different treatments, and why one treatment can often improve multiple symptoms at the same time.
-
Every person is different.
The number of treatments depends on your health goals, how long you've been experiencing symptoms, and how your body responds to treatment. Some people notice improvement after just a few visits, while chronic or long-standing conditions often require a series of treatments.
We'll discuss a personalized treatment plan during your first appointment so you'll know what to expect.
-
Yes. Acupuncture is considered very safe when performed by a licensed, board-certified acupuncturist.
I use only sterile, single-use, disposable needles and follow strict safety and sanitation standards.
-
Absolutely.
Acupuncture is often used alongside conventional medical care, physical therapy, chiropractic care, counseling, massage therapy, and other healthcare services. I believe healthcare works best when providers collaborate to support each patient's overall well-being.

At this time, All is Well Acupuncture is not in-network with insurance providers. However, upon request, I am happy to provide a detailed superbill containing the information needed for you to submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, so I recommend checking with your insurance provider regarding your acupuncture benefits. -
